“J” earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Delaware. He became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in 1980, and has been serving the community for 45 years. J is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). He specializes in trust, guardianship, and receivership services, as well as consulting in business, personal, tax, estate planning and real estate development. Residing in Berlin, Maryland with his wife, J is an active member of his community. J began serving on the Board of Directors of Calvin B. Taylor Bankshares, Inc. in the 1980’s and is currently the Chairman of the Audit Committee. He started in 1989 forming the Initial Board and Finance Committee that developed Atlantic General Hospital. Serving as Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee that planned and built the hospital in Worcester County, he worked with the towns of Ocean City and Berlin, and private citizens to raise and fund the building and operation of the facility. J served for 12 years on the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore; he currently serves on the Investment Committee.

Ryan earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2005. He earned his CPA license in 2006. In addition to tax law, he specializes in business consulting (e.g. new business set-up, investment analysis, management, buying and selling businesses, real estate transactions and financing). Ryan has a wide variety of clients by industry and size, but in particular he has many clients in agriculture, construction, restaurants, professional services and retail industry groups. He resides in Berlin, Maryland with his family, and is an active member of the community. Ryan serves on the Board of Directors for Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company.

Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts from Salisbury University and obtained the Professional Accounting Studies Program Certification in 1998. She is a member of the AICPA, the MACPA, and the Maryland Society of Accountants. A proven expert in the field, Amanda is a licensed CPA, Certified Financial Planner™, and Personal Financial Specialist (designated by the AICPA). She specializes in tax planning and preparation of corporate, partnership, individual, trust, and estate income tax returns, estate tax administration and planning, and financial planning. Amanda resides near  Snow Hill, Maryland with her family and is the treasurer of Worcester County GOLD and a member of the Atlantic General Hospital finance committee

Alex earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting & MBA from Widener University. His main focus is working closely with business clients providing tax planning and compliance services. He has over 20 years of public accounting experience preparing personal, business and fiduciary tax returns. He is affiliated with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Maryland Society of Accounting & Tax Professionals.

Kimberly received her Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University and her Master of Science in Taxation at Pace University. Kimberly is a member of the AICPA and the Maryland Society of Accountants and Tax Preparers. She specializes in preparation of corporate, partnership, individual and trust and estate income tax returns. Kimberly loves all aspects of estate tax administration and has worked extensively in this area. Kimberly is a member of the Board of Directors of the Donnie Williams Foundation which works exclusively with young people in Worcester, Wicomico, and St. Mary’s counties in Maryland to support school-aged children with academic support, after school activities, and job-training.

Ioana “Anna” received an MBA in 2013 and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2017 from Salisbury University and is currently a CPA candidate. She has been with Bergey and Company since 2017 and her areas of expertise include personal and business income tax preparation and tax planning. Ioana also earned a Marketing degree and a master’s in business administration in Romania. She resides in Snow Hill, Maryland with her family and serves as the treasurer of Christ the Savior Orthodox Church in Berlin, Maryland.

Melissa received her Associates degree in Office Technology in 2002 from Wor-Wic Community College. She specializes in Bookkeeping, Payroll, Property Management, Administrative Duties and is a Notary Public. She has been a part of our staff for over 15 years and enjoys working with our clients and learning new skills. Melissa resides in Salisbury with her family. She loves to spend fun quality time with her family, reading, and watching movies.

Olivia received her Bachelor of Science from Salisbury University in 2014 and obtained her MBA with a concentration in Accounting in 2022. She focuses on the preparation of individual and corporate tax returns. Olivia lives in Berlin, Maryland with her husband and their pets.

Polina earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Salisbury University. She is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Society of Accountants and Tax Professionals (MSATP). She specializes in individual and corporate income tax preparation, business consulting as well as assisting clients with payroll & sales tax compliance. Polina resides in Berlin, Maryland and is an active member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church.

Outside of the office, Polina enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and their three daughters.
