James Ryan Bergey, Jr. , CPA

J. is the founding partner of Bergey & Company P.A. He earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Delaware in 1978. He is a member of the Maryland association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has over 30 years experience and maintains over 40 hours of professional continuing education each year.

J. specializes in trust, guardianship and receivership services. He provides consulting in business, personal, tax, estate planning and real estate development.

 J. is a member of the Board of Directors of Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company, The Waterman’s Trust , Atlantic General Hospital Corporation and the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore. He serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee of Calvin B. Taylor Banking Company, Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee of Atlantic General Hospital Corporation. J. started working on the planning of the Hospital in the late 1980’s. He was a member of the first Board of Directors , the first Hospital Treasurer and Chairman of the Finance Committee. He helped formulate and direct the financing and construction of Atlantic General Hospital.

The newest non-profit venture “ The Waterman’s Trust “ involves saving the Chesapeake Bay and the way of life of it’s Watermen through Oyster Restoration and economic development. The creation of the Eastern Shore Growth Fund, LLC will help achieve this goal for our area by utilizing federal tax credit programs in facilitating loans to provide economic development . The Fund has been designated a qualifying Community Development Entity by the Department of the Treasury.

Amanda Kiesewetter, CPA

Amanda is a Partner at Bergey & Company, P.A. She is a  Certified Public Accountant who was a top ten scorer in the State of Maryland on her CPA exam. After receiving her B.A. degree from Salisbury University and graduating Summa Cumm Laude she went on to complete the professional accounting studies program also at Salisbury University.

Amanda is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Society of Accountants. Amanda has experience in preparation of federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships and individuals as well as performing audits. She also specializes in tax planning, estate taxation, small business and accounting system consulting and review and compilation services.

Erik Quisgard, CPA

Erik is a Manager at Bergey & Company, P.A. He earned his B.S. in Accounting from Salisbury University in Salisbury, MD.

Erik is a member of the MSA and MACPA. He has served as Treasurer for the Synepuxent Rod and Gun club and currently serves on the Berlin Utility Commission.

James Ryan Bergey, III “Ryan” is a Supervisor at Bergey & Company, P.A. and a Certified Public Accountant.  Ryan was enrolled in the honors program and earned a  B.S. in Accounting and a B.S. in Finance  from University of Maryland at College Park.

Ryan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Society of Accountants. He serves as a council member on the Delmarva Council Boy Scouts of America.
